These benches were once described by a journalist as ‘pure junk’, which they are.  The uprights are fins from an (unused) bomb, and the wood slats were painstakingly disassembled, milled, laminated, and sanded from shipping pallets that were no longer usable as such.


Several of the benches have icons representing archetypes of human interaction from different cultures cut into the legs.  I call these the ‘Evolution Benches’ because they might offer ways that people can evolve in their dealings with each other.
